Everything you need to know about Kindify, in one place.

Trust & Safety

We always recommend meeting in public places, during the day, especially the first time. Every profile has a visible history (good deeds, average response time), and the QR code handoff system confirms the exchange actually happened. If something doesn’t feel right, you can report the listing or conversation anytime, right from the page.

You can report the situation from the listing page (the “Report” button), or from the conversation. If you reserved an item through the “Hold” system, the reservation automatically expires after 48-72 hours if it isn’t completed, becoming available again for someone else — you’re never left stuck without a solution.

Every profile shows how long they’ve been a member, how many good deeds they’ve done, and an indicator of their average response time to messages. It’s not an absolute guarantee — but it gives real context, based on activity, not just words.

A few simple ideas that really help: choose a public place with people around (a café, a shopping center, not somewhere isolated); go during the day if you can; tell someone close to you where you’re going and with whom; if possible, bring someone along, especially the first time meeting someone new. There’s nothing odd about asking for this — any decent person understands.

How It Works

“Give” is for when you have something to offer — an item, clothing, a book — to someone who needs it. “Need” is the reverse: you post what you’re looking for, and the community can help if someone has exactly that available. Both work the same way, just in opposite directions.

It’s a separate section for exchanging time and skills, not items — for example, tutoring, small repairs, advice, companionship. Instead of money, you help with what you know how to do, and someone else helps you with what they know.

When someone is seriously interested in a listing, they can reserve the item for 48-72 hours, giving them time to arrange pickup without the risk of someone else taking it in the meantime. If the reservation expires without completion, the listing automatically becomes available to everyone again.

At the in-person meeting, one of you generates a QR code from the app, and the other scans it — this confirms, for both of you, that the exchange actually took place. It’s a simple, optional step, but especially useful the first time you meet someone new.

From the main page, tap “I want to give” or “I need support”, fill in a short form (title, description, category, photos if you’d like), and submit it. It immediately becomes visible to the whole community.

From your profile, in the section with your listings, you have the option to delete it directly from there — for example, if the item has already been picked up, or you’ve changed your mind.

Account & Privacy

No, Kindify is completely free, with no ads. If you’d like, you can support the platform with a voluntary donation from the “Support” page — but it’s never a condition for using the site.

From your profile page, you have the option to fully delete your account — this removes your personal data in accordance with GDPR. The process is irreversible, so you’ll be asked for explicit confirmation before it’s finalized.

Romanian, English, and Italian — you can switch languages anytime from the menu at the bottom of the page (footer).

Conversations are visible only between you and the person you’re talking to — no one else in the community can read them. We’re constantly working to strengthen the platform’s security; if you ever see something suspicious in a conversation, you can report it directly from there.

No, it’s completely optional. You can communicate entirely through the site’s chat, without sharing any phone number, if you prefer.
